Three Women working in Colored Pencil
September 1-29
For many years I have yearned to have a one person show at a fine gallery. Perhaps that is every artist's dream, for we all look for recognition and would like to share our images with as many people as possible. If we should actually sell a few pieces it would be the icing on our cake. After all these years of working in Colored Pencil, (27 or so for myself) I achieved one of my dreams. It was not a one person show, as few artists have that many pieces put together at one time in this medium, but a three person show. I was more than pleased with the results.

The Hudson Gallery hosted the Opening Reception for this Exhibition on September 12 from 5-7p.m. From the very first moments the gallery was buzzing with people. It was exciting to see so many come through the doors.

Dianna Soisson, Lynda Schumacher and myself were kept very busy talking to guests, friends and relatives. I wish, as usual, that I could remember everyones name.

I would like to thank The Hudson Gallery for hosting this exhibition. Scott and Barbara Hudson have been wonderful to work with. I would like them to know how much I appreciate their support and hard work to put the show together. The Gallery hung the show with great sensitivity, sense of color and flow. This is not an easy task, but they made it look beautiful.

This show was three women working in Colored Pencil. Dianna Soisson uses bright color and dense application in her florals. Her new "Journey" series are small pieces that speak volumes. Lynda Schumacher has a sensitive touch and a tireless love for detail. Her western themed work is unbelievably detailed and exacting. Her clothing and folds of material are exciting to see. Together with my own work, we each stood our own yet flowed into a comprehensive exhibit that attempted to show what the medium of Colored Pencil is capable of achieving.
